We are currently looking for two knowledgeable, enthusiastic and flexible people to fulfil the varied responsibilities of two important roles which form the Portable Antiquities Scheme representation in North and East Yorkshire. 

As Finds Liaison Officer it is essential that you have knowledge of working with and being able to identify a broad spectrum of archaeological objects. You will use this knowledge and experience to deliver and encourage access to the Portable Antiquities Scheme, and archaeology in general, for the object’s finders. You must have experience of working with metal detectorists, managing volunteers and working with the public. You will be expected to work flexibly and it is essential that you possess a full clean driving licence.

As Finds Liaison Assistant you will support the Finds Liaison Officer and also have knowledge of working with and being able to identify a broad spectrum of archaeological objects. You will take the lead role in Portable Antiquities scheme’s response to metal detecting rallies in North Yorkshire. You will be expected to work flexibly and possess a full clean driving licence.
