A small circular copper-alloy buckle frame, undecorated and circular in cross-section. There is no constriction for the pin, which has led to this object being classed as a buckle and not a brooch; it is entirely possible that it was alternatively used as a brooch. The copper-alloy pin survives, wrapped round the frame and tapering to a point. It is rectangular in cross-section and has some decorative mouldings at the top of the shaft. The buckle has a light green patina. It is 14.5mm in diameter and 5.4mm thick; it weighs 1.64g.
Egan and Pritchard (1991, p. 57-8) list several similar examples from contexts in London dated to between c. 1250 and c. 1450.
