A complete cast lead bag seal of post-medieval to modern date. The seal is circular with a rectangular cross section. One side is decorated with a castle with two turrets between which is a pair of crossed keys. Above the keys is a crown. A winged creature appears to be peering out from either side of the castle. This image is contained within a raised circular border.
The other side is stamped with Russian text both around the edge and in the central field.
The text around the edge reads: Ab B.K.T.TP?HTAAb'3[----]
The central text reads: B?//P??[-]
The metal is a dark brownish-grey colour and survives in good condition. The seal is 18.4mm in diameter, 2.9mm thick and weighs 5.2g.
