Copper alloy syringe, dating to the post-medieval period, probably 18th century. The syringe is complete and has three horizontal grooves around the centre of its body.
There are several similar syringes on the PAS database, mainly found on the Thames foreshore. Dating evidence comes from a similar syringe found in the wreck of the Machault, which sank off eastern Canada in 1760 (Sullivan 1986, 87).
